New Horizon Learning Centers provides $125,000 in Scholarships for 2012 Fifty For The Future Awardees and their Faculty Sponsors

The Foundation, in partnership with New Horizons Learning Centers, is extremely pleased to announce the creation of a $125,000 scholarship fund for this year’s Fifty For The Future® program!

New Horizons will provide a $1,000 scholarship for both the awardee and the faculty nominator. The schoarships can be applied to New Horizons’ extensive learning catalog (PDF).We are now accepting nominations for the 2012 program – start application here.

As you know, the annual Fifty For The Future® Celebration recognizes exceptional students with an interest in and potential to use technology in innovative ways. Our program provides encouragement and recognition to students who pursue innovation through technology, providing access to business leaders to showcase their talent.

Winners of the Fifty For The Future® Award will be chosen through a rigorous judging process reviewed by a panel of information technology and industry executives. Student contribution focus is on high school through university and graduate level programs.

The Fifty For The Future® Celebration is attended by information technology executives, industry leaders, judges, Foundation sponsors and other supporters of the technology industry. The Awardees, their family and guests will be invited to attend the celebration in September, 2012.

Nominations will remain open until August 10, 2012. New Horizon Learning Centers provides $125,000 in Scholarships for 2012 Fifty for the Future® Awardees and their Faculty Sponsors.Chicago, IL – February 20, 2012 — The Illinois Technology Foundation is pleased to announce that New Horizons Computer Learning Centers (Chicago) will provide each Fifty for the Future® awardee a $1,000 scholarship and a separate $1,000 scholarship to his or her faculty sponsor. In addition, a special drawing will be held at the annual celebration where New Horizons will award an additional $5,000 scholarship to one of the awardees. Recipients of the award will be able to apply the scholarship to New Horizons’ extensive catalog of offerings.

“We are pleased to lend our support to the Fifty for the Future® program,” says Mark McManus, Jr., CEO of New Horizons Learning Centers. “The program has a long history of identifying top student talent in the Illinois market and we are excited to reward students and faculty involved in the program.”
