Webfoot Technology Field Trip – getting girls excited about Science & Technology
Do you have a daughter, grand-daughter, niece, sister between the ages of 8 and 13, who you would like to see take an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics known as STEM?
The Illinois Technology Foundation has launched a new program dedicated to getting young girls between the ages of 8 and 13 excited about Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The program will feature field trips and projects for the girl and a parent (or parent approved adult – like grandparent, aunt/uncle). The program kicked off in June with its Inaugural field trip to the Chicago Botanical Garden’s Science Center to learn about what the Scientists do. Our next trip is ready for registration and is being held at a game development company where the girls will get a first hand look at how many of the games they have played on Nintendo DS (My Little Pony, Fancy Nancy, and more), Gameboy Advanced, and Ipad are created. We hope you can join us to give your girl(s) exposure to an exciting field in technology. Your registration includes both a morning and afternoon snack.
