About the Foundation

The Illinois Technology Foundation is dedicated to the development of the future technology leaders of Illinois through active industry participation in the education process. The Foundation works with academic institutions, from K-12 through college level, to encourage and retain Illinois technology talent. ITF works across industry, academia, and government, developing and nurturing the talent pipeline required for the future economy of Illinois. The Foundation is the philanthropy arm of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA), a membership organization of more than 700 Illinois technology companies who support the development of a stronger technology talent pipeline in the region.

The ITF focuses on four key educational areas:

Retention of Illinois Talent: ITF works to retain top technology talent in Illinois through engagement with industry leaders in the state.
Early Introduction and Access to Technology: ITF engages with students in K-12 programs in the Chicagoland area to provide an early introduction to technology and career routes.
Curriculum Alignment: ITF collaborates with University-level professionals to ensure the needs of the hiring community are actively addressed in the classroom.
Supporting Professionals with Disabilities: ITF works with professionals with disabilities to assist them in their career search.

The Illinois Technology Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt as a public charity under Sections 501(c)(3) and 509 of the Internal Revenue Code.
