Pre-Register Now for 50 For The Future:  Students | Educators

Key Dates:

Jan. 29, 2010: Pre-registration begins

Feb. 10, 2010: Nominations Open

March 4, 2010: Nominations Close

Mid-April: Winners' Reception and Award Ceremony

Why should you apply for the award or nominate a student?
  • Students using technology in innovative ways can connect with industry leaders interested in hiring qualified applicants for technology jobs.
  • 50 For the Future helps technology firms identify future talent and guide training for them.

Eligibility and Criteria:

  • The awards are open to all students currently enrolled in an Illinois college, vocational, technical or post-graduate level education institution.
  • Nominees will be judged on their initiative, interest, academic performance and technology skills.

Award Benefits:

  • Award winners will be honored at an April event attended by the competition’s judges and nominators.
  • Winners and nominees will have access to prospective employers via round tables, web seminars and mentoring programs through the Illinois Technology Foundation. Winners will have preferred status  for limited capacity activities.

How to Apply:

  • Students may self-initiate nominations this year for the first time. Students complete the online application form then automatically forward it to a teacher familiar with his or her work.  The teacher reviews and completes the application before submitting the nomination.
  • Educators also may initiate the process, nominating one or more of their top technology students.  The online application will lead them through this process.

Students and educators are asked to  pre-register here to start the nomination process.  The online application will be posted by February 10.  Students and educators should review the Summary Nomination Form before applying online.  For complete rules and application guidelines, see the 50 For The Future FAQ.
